Eco-Art Cloth: Artisan-Crafted Sensory Delight

With passage of time, the rarity of native arts is getting lost in the sands. To preserve the sanctity of these artistic emblems, the project 'Swabhimaan' aims to build a future where every artist can lead a full, well-rounded life, mitigating the nuisances of unemployment leading to diminishing arts, all the while pushing innovation and creativity in design and textile in every state, region and countries.

Artisan-Crafted Sensory Delight

With the help of this project we've employed 100+ artisans in areas of print designing, cloth weavings, tribal art hand painting, interpreting locally famous hand embroideries on organic fabrics as well as collaborating for eco packages. This engages us to bring onto your table an all-rounded, sensory experience of awe, art and ecstacy. To bring cultural artisans in the mainstream productive masses, standardized guidelines are met out in terms of remunerations, rewards and work-life balance in a highly labor intensive industry.

The Green Dyeing Technique

Before yarns undergo the dance of color dyeing and weaving, they're put through a journey to enhance their acceptability of color. This preparation known as mordanting, which is done with 'Alum' at All The Same, ensures not only favorable results in color fastness in natural fabrics but also adds anti-microbial properties, making garments healthy and environmentally friendly. After mordanting, these threads are immersed in a vibrant array of colors extracted from vegetables, fruits, herbs, roots, and leaves. These sources include tea leaves, onions, mulberry leaves, madder or rhizome, marigold, tannins, and more. Derived from the flora family, these colors imbue the artistic ensembles with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-cancer, and hypoallergenic properties. To add a protective film to dyed fabric and hand painted stories on woven winds, a layer of 'protein' coating is added using Soy Milk, which along with an extra dose of favorable fastness adds to the bright, graceful and lustrous look of colors. The handiwork on the woven canvases features natural colors, applied freehand by skilled artisans from the region.
